Marine and Maritime Industry

Marine and Maritime industry is a very big and wide industry covering all aspects of sea or anything related to sea, shipping or maritime affairs. This is a growing industry in Indian economy. Indian marine industry is worth Rs 30,000 crores according to a recent estimate. Export earning from marine sector has been in the range of Rs 6,400 crore which was just 10% of the total value of the industry and accounted for nearly 25% of the quantity. However, it had to be noted that it was this earning that helped sustain the industry.
