Brewery or Distillery Industry

When we talk about a brewery, we mean the plant that produces beer or a business involved in the production of beer. Whereas distillery is a plant where alcoholic drinks are made by distillation. A handful of major breakthroughs have led to the growth of modern brewery or distillery industry.

The diversity of size in breweries and distilleries is matched by the diversity of processes, degrees of automation, and kinds of beer/alcohol produced in breweries/distillery. Typically a brewery is divided into distinct sections, where each section is reserved for one part of the brewing process. The brewing process includes mashing, lautering, boiling, fermenting, conditioning, filtering, and packaging.

Pumps in Brewery or Distillery Industry
A wide variety of pumps are available for the brewery or distillery industry. Since the invention of steam engine way back in 1765, pumps are used in brewery. The steam engine brought automatic stirring mechanisms and pumps into the brewery.

It gave the brewers the ability to more reliably mix liquids while heating, particularly the mash, to prevent scorching, and a quick way to transfer liquid from one container to another. Mechanical pumps allow more flexibility in brewery design. Almost all breweries now use electric-powered stirring mechanisms and pumps.
