Bicycle Pump

Bicycle
pump is the most common type of pump which can be used by everyone
starting from a small child to a grown up man. The commonly used bicycle
pumps are usually bicycle air pump. It is a type of positive
displacement pump which is specifically designed for inflating bicycle
tyres. The bicycle pump has one or both of the two types of valve in use
on bicycles, schrader or presta. Nowadays, electric bicycle pumps are
also available.

How does a Bicycle Pump works?
- The pump is small, compact, light, strong and portable.
- Cylindrical body of the pump is made out of metal which is
approximately eighteen inches tall and two in diameter.
- It has a metal base that is a base at the bottom of the cylinder
so as to keep the pump in an upright position.
- The handle is usually made of plastic.
- The hose is rubber and wrapped in a thick protective twine.
- The pin is also made out of plastic.
- Overall, the pump is light in weight and less prone to rust and
the handle glides up and down easier.
- A lot of pumps these days can come with pressure gauge, so as to
avoid pumping too much air into a tire.
Uses of Bicycle Pump:
- The bicycle pump is ideal for road bikes, mountain bikes, racing
bikes, street bikes, children bicycles, motorcycles, scooters,
mopeds etc.
- It can be used in inflatable devices such as balls, air
mattresses, pool toys.
